About

Marcona Media is a production company whose work explores the strange and beautiful messiness of being human. Marcona’s projects push creative boundaries and use warmth and whimsy to forge new ways of connecting, seeing, and knowing.

Marcona Media’s films have screened at festivals around the world, including Venice, Toronto, SXSW, and CPH:DOX, and have been supported by organizations including Sundance Institute, Impact Partners, Anonymous Content, Field of Vision, and Ford Foundation. Recent projects include Academy Award–shortlisted MISTRESS DISPELLER (Oscilloscope Laboratories), nominated for three Cinema Eye Honors awards, a Critic’s Choice Award, and a DGA Award; Gotham Award-nominated WHAT WE LEAVE BEHIND, acquired by ARRAY Releasing and Netflix; LOVE + WAR (TIFF 2025) for National Geographic Documentary Films / Disney+; and the short documentary THE SCHOOL OF CANINE MASSAGE (SXSW 2024), a Vimeo Staff Pick. Marcona founder Emma D. Miller was a 2023 Sundance Producers Fellow and 2024 JFI Filmmaker in Residence, and was named one of Filmmaker Magazine’s “25 New Faces of Independent Film” and one of DOC NYC’s “40 Under 40.” She has worked as a development executive, programmer, and creative consultant for organizations including Concordia Studio, Edgeline Films, XTR, and the Full Frame Documentary Film Festival.
